For a long time after 1949, accounting research in P. R. China was followed the governmental requirement and taken charge of it among few accounting experts. They leaded the accounting research direction. There is no civilian group for accounting academic contention of different opinions to engage in a contest.
Since 1978 there are many scholars to go abroad learning modern science, modern technique and modern knowledge. After 17 years thinking, discussing, arranging, observing all over the world， accounting Professors Tang Yunwei initiated and organized the first civilian accounting academic organization -- Chinese Accounting Professors Association (CAPA) in 1995.
